Learning For All ~ Whatever It Takes!

From the Superintendent's Desk: Parents/Guardians an Important Part of Student Success

The new school year brings a myriad of thoughts and feelings to the surface for students and staff alike. Excitement, uncertainty, enthusiasm, hesitancy and optimism are just a few of those thoughts and feelings. Some of our students will be attending school for the first time, and many of our students will be attending school in a new building. We have new staff members in the district, and we have staff members who will be in different buildings and/or starting a new teaching assignment. Ultimately, we’re all in this together, and our staff will do all we can to provide the best and most positive experience each day for each of our students.

Parents/Guardians also have a role in the potential success of their children. Communicate with your children each day about what they are doing in school. Ask them if they are enjoying school, ask them if they are making friends, and ask them if they feel comfortable with their teachers. If at any time you receive a less than positive response, you have the ability to communicate with the teacher or the principal to try to bring about a positive change for your child.

I hope that your family has a positive academic year, and I hope that all of our students enjoy going to school each day. We’re here to help. Plan to attend school functions, plan to attend Parent/Guardian-Student-Teacher Conferences, and plan to be actively involved in the education of your child. Research shows that the children of involved parents/guardians are more successful in school.

If you ever want to discuss academics, curriculum or any other aspect of the district, please contact me via telephone (937-845-3576) or email ([email protected]). Thank you for your continued cooperation and support!
