THS to Select Student Representative to the Board
The Tecumseh Local Board of Education is pleased to announce there will be a newly created position of a Student Representative to the Board beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. The goal of this position is to gain a unique student-centered perspective, which will help guide the board's decisions and keep the focus on “Learning for all . . . Whatever it takes.”
The students and staff at Tecumseh High School will choose the student who will fill this position and anyone entering their senior year in the fall with a minimum of a 3.00 GPA is encouraged to complete the application process.
The Student Representative to the Board will be viewed as the expert in student affairs and will need to be connected to what is happening at all building levels. They will attend the board meetings, submit a Board Report prior to each meeting detailing activities, awards, special recognitions, etc. from across the district, and be asked to give their perspective about various issues and policies.
We are excited about this new position allowing the students to have a voice with a direct line of communication to the school board members.
