From the Superintendent's Desk: Building Maintenance Keeps Schools Looking Great

The six buildings in the school district are now more than ten years old, yet they still look brand new when in them.  This fact is due to the outstanding work of the custodians and maintenance staff.  The custodial and maintenance staffs consistently do a wonderful job of cleaning the schools after the schools have hosted between approximately 400 and 1000 students each day, depending upon the building.

From the Superintendent's Desk:

The six buildings in the school district are now more than ten years old, yet they still look brand new when in them.  This fact is due to the outstanding work of the custodians and maintenance staff.  The custodial and maintenance staffs consistently do a wonderful job of cleaning the schools after the schools have hosted between approximately 400 and 1000 students each day, depending upon the building.

Most of our custodians toil in relative anonymity because they work after most have gone home for the day, and they don’t leave the building until approximately 11 PM each night.  The day custodians interact much more with students, staff and visitors, and each does a great job of being personal, friendly, positive and helpful.  These staff members also do a terrific job of keeping sidewalks clear of ice and snow during the winter.

This school district is a large organization.  It instructs approximately 3000 students, and it employs nearly 400 people.  It takes everyone’s best effort for the district to operate smoothly each day.  No job or task is unimportant, and the custodians and maintenance staff contribute greatly to the district’s success on a daily basis.  If you have the opportunity, thank a custodian for his/her efforts!
