Summer Sessions for NCES Educators Benefit Students

New Carlisle Elementary students will benefit this school year from knowledge and skills educators learned at professional development sessions over the summer.

New Carlisle Elementary students will benefit this school year from knowledge and skills educators learned at professional development sessions over the summer.

Mrs. Randenburg, Mrs. Holway (4th) and Mrs. Greene (technology) from NCES all attended the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) Fusion 2017 Training in Indianapolis. This two-day session helps educators learn new ways to use data and assessments to turn visions for greater student growth and learning into a reality. This information will be shared with colleagues throughout the school year to help teachers use data in their classroom to boost learning for all students.

Several New Carlisle teachers will attend a session this August on Guiding Gifted Learners. Ms. Moore, Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Priest, Mrs. Rudd and Mrs. Evans will share with other educators the information they learn on the needs of gifted students and how to personalize instruction in the classroom for these learners.

Thanks to a generous donation from the TLS Elementary PTO, students at NCES will have access this year to a new quarter mile paved walking track in the field east of the school beyond the playground. Mrs. Russell will use the track for physical education as students achieve their goal of running or walking a mile on the track. The track will also be available for other activities throughout the year and for staff and community members to enjoy. Thanks to our PTO for this wonderful addition to New Carlisle Elementary!
