Anyone who knows Laura knows her passion for education, especially educating those who are learning English while attending school. It is a struggle Laura knows well. She came to the United States 15 years ago, newly-married, pregnant, and speaking very little English. Laura learned English while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology. Today, she is a licensed intervention specialist and recently returned to school to earn a degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Laura started her career in education in the Dayton Public Schools more than 10 years ago where she was an instructional aide. She then came to Tecumseh where she has been an aide to English Language Learners, an intervention specialist, and now an EL teacher who supervises instructional aides. Laura is an inspiration to all those around her. Congratulations, Laura and thank you for your commitment to the students at Tecumseh!
