Technology Enhances Education at Park Layne

Park Layne teachers are expanding their use of technology in the classrooms.

Park Layne teachers are expanding their use of technology in the classrooms. All classroom teachers have a minimum of 8 iPads in their classroom, and a class set is available by sharing with the other teachers in their pod.

All kindergarten teachers have at least 2 OSMOs in their classrooms that students can use. OSMOs interact with an iPad to turn it into a hands-on learning tool, allowing students to work with numbers and words in fun and creative ways. The Tangram and Newton portions of the program encourage visual thinking and problem solving, and students’ creative juices start flowing in the Masterpiece portion of the program.

Another awesome technology tool that many teachers have at their disposal is the interactive SMART board. A Smart Board is a large, interactive whiteboard in the classroom that has many uses to enhance teaching and learning. Teachers and students are able to interact with the curriculum in a fun and engaging manner for whole class instruction and during small group work.
