Hello students, faculty, and parents, my name is Mr. Hitt. Welcome to my web page! I am a Chemistry and Physical Geology teacher here at Tecumseh High School. I grew up in Clark Country and have been in this area my entire life. My hometown is South Charlston and I attended Southeastern High School, the home of the Trojans! I then attended college at Cedarville University. Go Yellow Jackets! Now, this is my first year teaching at Tecumseh High School. Go Arrows!
My Interests or Involvement/Hobbies
I would say most of my free time is spent either fishing, being with friends or family, playing or watching sports (particularly basketball), reading, playing video games, watching series on Netflix, or leading Young Life at Tecumseh.
I have always found Science fascinating. I came to enjoy it at a young age. Initially, my interest started when I was in 5th grade. That is when I started being involved in my school Science fair. I continued to be involved in Science fair up through 7th grade. Then, when I got to high school, my Science classes were always my favorite; however, I particularly enjoyed Physics and Chemistry. My Chemistry teacher made the subject fun and engaging. Whether it was through playing competitive games in the classroom, doing experiments, or watching crazy demonstrations. The primary reason though I believe Science is important is that it teaches us all to think critically and creatively. Also, it can be difficult, but understanding Science more has helped me understand the worl in a way that I never would have before. I want my student to excel, but hopefully through this class, my students will find a value for Science as well.
