Learning For All ~ Whatever It Takes!

From the Superintendent's Desk...

I’m often asked about financial matters and whether the district is engaged in any money-saving initiatives. Treasurer Deb Schock and I are constantly reviewing expenditures and trying to determine areas where cuts can be made or where money can be saved. Since December of 2015 more than $150,000 has been saved in the area of personnel. Here is detailed information regarding those savings:

  • District Level Custodial/Maintenance: Did Not Rehire One Position After a Retirement
Savings in Salary and Benefits: $68,266.16
  • Administrative Support/Assistant/Secretary in Central Office: Reduction in Force of One Position
Savings in Salary and Benefits: $58,253.79
  • Custodial/Maintenance: Did Not Rehire One Part-time Position After a Resignation
    Central Office Cleaning
Savings in Salary and Benefits: $3623
  • Teaching: Did Not Rehire One Part-time Instrumental Music Teacher at TMS after a Resignation
Savings in Salary and Benefits: $23,236.01

These proactive steps add up to a savings of  $153,378.96. Mrs. Schock, the Board of Education and I strive to be good stewards of the taxpayers’ investment in excellent schools for our community, and we will continue to look for ways to save money.
