Emotional, Mental Health Priority for Tecumseh Schools

Our goal at Tecumseh Local Schools is to provide effective educational activities and teaching strategies that promote learning to the maximum extent possible for our students.  We recognize in order for this to occur, we must address the multiple facets and barriers our students experience.  Proactive strategies and initiatives to address these barriers are routinely implemented at the district.

Issues such as bullying prevention, positive behavior reinforcement, trauma-sensitive initiatives and strategies to address mental health are routinely explored.  We have established a Mental Health Committee to research and implement effective strategies to address these areas. Members of the committee include: building principals, school psychologists, guidance counselors, a school nurse, the director of special education, our school resource officer, and the assistant superintendent.  We’ve included a chart of the multiple programs and initiatives currently implemented at each building in the district. Click here to view the cart.

If you would like additional information about any of the initiatives, please contact me at [email protected].  I am always available to discuss the proactive steps we are taking at the district to ensure the success of every student.
