Learning for All, Whatever it Takes

Title 1 Program

Title 1 Program

Our Title I program is designed to provide additional academic support and resources to help all students in our K-12 school district achieve their full potential. Through targeted interventions, family engagement opportunities, and personalized learning strategies, Title I ensures that students receive the tools they need for success. We are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where every child can thrive academically and beyond.

What is Title 1?

  • Title 1 is a federally funded program. The goal of Title 1 is to ensure a high-quality education for every child, by providing extra help to students who need it most. Title 1 funds are used to raise the achievment of students who are failing, or are at-risk of failing to meet the challenging state standards.
  • Title 1 funds are distributed to districts and individual schools based on the number of low-income families served. However, once a school qualifies for Title 1 funds, academic need, not economic status, determines which students receive extra services.
  • Title 1 funds help provide supplementary materials and additional educators for the school. These funds are also used to support parent/family involvment activities and after school tutoring.
  • At Tecumseh Local Schools, Title 1 funds provide services to students in grades K-5. These services are delivered through a variety of methods such as small group interventions, individual interventions, or with-in class support.
