New Carlisle Elementary Earns Momentum Award
New Carlisle Elementary is a recipient of the 2016 Momentum Award, a recognition from the Ohio Department of Education of the school’s A rating on the progress measure of the state report card.
New Carlisle Elementary is one of only 169 schools – or about five percent of all public schools in Ohio - to win the Momentum Award for its performance on the 2015-16 State Report Card. Just four schools in Clark County earned the award, and New Carlisle is the only elementary school in the county to do so.
"I'd like our staff to proactively assist our students to become unique problem solvers and critical thinkers and not necessarily test takers,” said Superintendent Norm Glismann. “The NCES staff has certainly taken that message to heart. Congratulations to Mrs. Randenburg and the students and staff at NCES on this wonderful accomplishment!"
The Momentum Award is given to schools that exceed expected growth for student by earning an A on all four categories of the value-added component of the state report card. That means that on average all students grew by more than expected over the school year, and that students with disabilities, gifted students, and students who score in the lowest 20 percent on state exams also exceeded those growth expectations.
“We all work very hard at New Carlisle Elementary to help all students achieve more, whatever that more is for them,” said New Carlisle Elementary Principal Kathryn Randenburg. “Every student is different and has their own challenges and at New Carlisle Elementary we strive to meet everyone where they are and help them grow, learn and be a better person. New Carlisle Elementary has a very special, dedicated and amazing staff, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

TLS - Arrows' School of Advancement

The Arrows' School of Advancement has been developed to meet the academic needs of students who do not choose to attend a traditional "brick and mortar" school.  Students are challenged with rigorous and relevant assignments and assessments that are designed to meet today's new standards of education for college readiness and career preparedness.  Our program offers schedule and coursework flexibility previously unknown to students and parents until now.  The Arrows' School of Advancement curriculum will prepare students for opportunities at the collegiate level or immediate employment upon completion of all high school diploma requirements.
The Arrow's School of Advancement is a full-time online program for students in grades 6 through 12.  Students are required to complete one lab session per week at Medway School while the remainder of the week coursework can be completed at home.  The A.S.A. curriculum is designed to be self-paced; therefore, each student must be self-motivated to complete each course.  The ideal minimum grade for each course is a C minus.  If a student falls below a C minus average in a course, the student will be required to attend additional lab sessions (situations and circumstances may vary) each week.  A C minus average will help ensure a student's college readiness and career preparedness.  All students who complete the A.S.A.'s required curriculum will receive a Tecumseh High School diploma.  This is a diploma from a fully accredited academic institution.
For more information on A.S.A., please contact Mr. Russ Ostrowski at 937-845-4475.
