The evaluation of digital resources is an ongoing process, adapting to the availability of new tools and technologies. TLS carefully evaluates any digital resource which collects student data to ensure compliance with the district's data privacy and instructional standards.
Cybersecurity is an important part of keeping our district's data, technology and communications safe. We work with MVECA (Miami Valley Educational Computer Association) to strengthen our security measures following the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. All employees receive training on cybersecurity and data privacy, which are now regular parts of how our district operates.
Tecumseh Local Schools internet traffic is filtered in compliance with CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act). Additionally, TLS utilizes a web filtering solution, Securly to manage content entering the district network. Please note: the internet is constantly changing. As such internet filters are not perfect and at times certain content may "slip" through.
TLS integrates digital citizenship lessons throughout the curriculum to foster safe and responsible online behavior. At the elementary level, digital citizenship is specifically addressed during technology classes, where students learn essential skills for navigating the online environment responsibly. TLS leverages digital tools to actively engage students, enhance learning, and instill practices for safe and appropriate online interactions.
