Meet the Board Members

  • Ms. Sue Anne Martin began her first term on the Tecumseh Board of Education in January 2018. She is the Marketing Analyst with Wright-Patt Credit Union, where she works with membership and financial data to find trends and opportunities to better help credit union members. Previously, she has worked at Gardens Alive in Tipp City managing all things digital for two horticultural brands. She has extensive experience in financial analysis, data reporting and financial research. Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wright State and Master of Arts in Management from Antioch University Midwest. 

     

    Ms. Martin is the current president of the New Carlisle Breakfast Optimist Club, previously served on the New Carlisle Public Library Board of Trustees and supports various local organizations with her time. She is a proud graduate of Tecumseh High School (Class of 1988), along with her sister, Robin (Class of 1980) brother, Patrick (Class of 1992) and two nieces, Hannah (Class of 2017) and Delaney (Class of 2021). 

     

    Ms. Martin’s current term ends on December 31, 2025.

  • Mr. Jon Stafford joined the board in 2022. He graduated from Tecumseh in 1995, and graduated from Wittenberg University in 2000 with a business management degree.  Mr. Stafford and his wife Michelle (Tecumseh class of 1997) have 2 boys Brayden and Chase, and have lived in the district almost their entire lives.  Mr. Stafford is currently the President and CEO of Staffco Construction, Inc. which is a general contractor in Fairborn, Ohio specializing in commercial construction projects in the Miami Valley.  Mr. Stafford enjoys coaching, golfing, and traveling. 

     

    Mr. Stafford previously served on the board from 2012 - 2013. His current term expires on December 31, 2025. 

  • Mr. Matthew Mills was appointed to the Tecumseh Board of Education in December of 2022. He is a lifelong resident of the Tecumseh Local School District with the only exception being 2018 thru 2021. He is a second-generation Tecumseh High School graduate (class of 2006). Upon Graduation he obtained his bachelor's degree from Wright State University in Mechanical Engineering and then his master's degree in Clean and Renewable Energy Engineering also from Wright State University. Mr. Mills works as a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Coordinator for Danis Construction and has been employed with them since 2008. Since working at Danis Mr. Mills has been involved in several major healthcare projects in the local area and has been working on campus expansion projects at Dayton Children’s Hospital since 2014. Mr. Mills is married to his wife Jamie Mills who is also a 2006 graduate from Tecumseh High School. Mr. and Mrs. Mills have two children, Abrahm and Macie, who currently attend New Carlisle Elementary School, and have been attending school in the district since kindergarten.

     

    Mr. Mills spends most of his free time attending his children’s sporting events which include baseball, soccer, and wrestling. He and his family enjoy going on camping trips whenever they are able and spend many of their weekends in the summer visiting different state parks around Ohio and surrounding states. 

     

    Mr. Mills’ term expires on December 31, 2027.

  • Mr. Roger Diller has been a lifelong resident of Bethel Township and attended Tecumseh Local Schools. Mr. Diller (Class of 1971) and his immediate family are all Tecumseh graduates; he married Donna Patton Diller (Class of 1974) in 1975. Their two children Donald Diller (Class of 1996) and Sandra Diller Callicoat (Class of 1999) have blessed them with 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. 
    After graduating in June of 1971, Mr. Diller worked for Wenzler Bros. Construction in Kettering until 1972. He entered the automotive business as an auto mechanic in January of 1972 at Kessler Pontiac in New Carlisle until 1984. He decided to change professions and accepted employment with the New Carlisle-Bethel Local Schools (now Tecumseh Local Schools) in June of 1984. Mr. Diller held a district maintenance position from 1990-2006 and in 2007 he received his BOC (Building Operator Certification) and became the Maintenance Supervisor. Mr. Diller retired from Tecumseh in May of 2021 and has continued to give support to the district. He is continuing his Arrow Pride by joining the Tecumseh Local School Board of Education in January 2024. 

     

    Mr. Diller's current term ends on December 31, 2027. 

  • Mrs. Brenda Clark has lived in the district for over 50 years. She is a 1975 graduate of Tecumseh and studied Accounting at Wayne College in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Mrs. Clark served twenty-eight years at Tecumseh Middle School as the Principal's Secretary, retiring in 2022. During her time in that career, she watched many students grow, become parents, and watched their children grow too. She loves that she still has close relationships with former students who have become her friends. Mrs. Clark has been married to her husband Dean for 47 years. They have two sons, Travis and Seth, both Tecumseh graduates, and one daughter-in-law, Jessie who is a Greenon grad but is still loved! Brenda and Dean have three granddaughters, Olivia, Eden and Valerie.  

     

    Mrs. Clark is so excited about this opportunity to serve the district and our community. She feels strongly that she can be a positive voice for all involved; students, parents, administrators, teachers, and support staff.  We all want what’s best for the whole! 

     

    Mrs. Clark's current term ends on December 31, 2027.

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

The Board of Education consists of five Tecumseh Local School District Citizens, elected by nonpartisan ballot, each serving a four-year term. As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Establishing rules and regulations necessary for governing the School District, its employees, students, and all individuals on school grounds or premises.

  • Ensuring that students within the School District have access to quality educational opportunities.

  • Appointing a Superintendent of Schools and delegating legally permissible powers to the Superintendent.

  • Appointing a Treasurer.

  • Reviewing and acting on personnel matters and policies recommended by the Superintendent of Schools.

  • Overseeing the preparation of the annual budget and taking appropriate action.

  • Approving an annual appropriations measure.

  • Adopting a master calendar each year.

  • Entering into contracts with personnel in accordance with Ohio law.

  • Levying taxes, with voter approval, to support the operation and maintenance of schools.

Participate

The Board invites members of the public to address the Board with comments, opinions, concerns, or questions on any topic of interest to the public and the School District. Because public business needs to be conducted in an efficient manner, the Board follows guidelines for public participation in accordance with Board policy.

Board meetings are meetings of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and are not to be considered public community meetings. There is for public participation during the regular meeting as indicated on the regular agenda.

In Person: Meetings are held beginning at 6:00pm, unless otherwise noted in the agenda, in the Arrow Conference Room at Tecumseh High School, 9830 West National Rd. New Carlisle, Oh.
