The school nurse is here to support the health and well-being of all students. The clinic provides essential services to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment. Here’s an overview of important topics related to clinic policies and resources:
Immunizations
State law requires all students to have up-to-date immunizations to attend school. If your child needs immunizations or updates, please provide the clinic with the proper documentation. Contact the school nurse if you have questions about immunization requirements or need assistance accessing immunization services.
Medications
For students who require medications during the school day, a completed medication authorization form signed by a parent/guardian and healthcare provider must be submitted to the nurse. All medications, including over-the-counter drugs, must be provided in their original containers and kept in the clinic.
Forms
If your child has a medical condition such as asthma, diabetes, or severe allergies, please ensure that the necessary health forms are completed and submitted at the beginning of the school year. These forms help the nurse create a care plan to support your child's health needs.
Elevator Use
Students with temporary or permanent mobility issues may request an elevator pass through the clinic. A note from a healthcare provider may be required to issue a pass. This ensures that students can move safely and comfortably around the school.
Bed Bugs and Head Lice
If a student is found to have bed bugs or head lice, the nurse will provide guidance and resources to address the issue. Students may return to school after treatment has begun. Confidentiality is always maintained, and the school works to prevent the spread of pests while supporting families in managing the situation.
Community Resources
The clinic has access to a variety of community resources, including local health clinics, food banks, and counseling services. If your family needs assistance, the school nurse can connect you with these supports.

Hello Tecumseh families and welcome to the TMS Clinic page,
My name is Dianna Accurso and I'm the School Nurse for Tecumseh Middle School. I am a 1991 graduate of Tecumseh High School and completed my BSN in Nursing from Wright State University in 1995. I received my school nurse licensure in 2001 and in December of 2015, I received my Masters Degree, with a focus in School Nursing, from Wright State University.
During my nursing career I have worked at Miami Valley Hospital and currently maintain support staff status at Upper Valley Medical Center. I have been a School Nurse for Tecumseh Local Schools for 23 years.
