DIBELS Report Information
Posted Date: 10/22/26 (02:33 PM)
Dear NCES Families,
Today, you received your child’s MClass/DIBELS and MAPS assessment reports through ParentSquare. These reports provide important information about your child’s progress and help us identify areas of strength and areas where additional support may be needed.
Typically, we share and discuss these reports during parent-teacher conferences so we can explain what the scores mean, discuss the supports and interventions we are providing at school, and work together to determine how we can best help your child succeed. We understand that receiving these reports without that conversation may leave you with questions. We plan to hold parent-teacher conferences in November, and the date will be shared as soon as it is determined. During conferences, your child’s teacher will review these scores with you and explain the steps we are taking at school to support your child’s learning.
In the meantime, we need your help at home! Your child’s success is a team effort, and the work we do at school is most effective when it is supported at home. One of the most important things you can do is make sure your child reads every evening. Our nightly reading expectations are:
- 2nd Grade: At least 20 minutes
- 3rd Grade: At least 30 minutes
- 4th Grade: At least 40 minutes
- 5th Grade: At least 50 minutes
We also ask that you make sure your child completes nightly homework and check their agenda, if they have one. Please take time to ask about assignments, check that work is completed, and encourage your child to take responsibility for their learning. If your child is expected to read and complete assignments at home, we need your support in making sure those expectations are met consistently.
Our teachers work hard every day to provide instruction, interventions, and additional support based on students’ individual needs. We are committed to helping every child grow and succeed. However, school support alone is not enough. We need families to partner with us by establishing routines, following through with expectations, and making learning a priority at home.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. When school and home work together, we give our students the best opportunity to make progress, build confidence, and reach their full potential. We look forward to discussing your child’s progress with you at our November conferences.
Together, we can help every child be successful!
Sincerely,
Kathryn Randenburg
Principal, New Carlisle Elementary School
