  • The Safer Ohio School Tip Line is a free safety resource available to all Ohio schools. The tip line is an anonymous reporting system that accepts both calls and texts 24 hours a day.

This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety – whether it involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.

Items to report may include but are not limited to:

    • Bullying
    • Withdrawn student behaviors
    • Verbal or written threats observed toward students, faculty, or schools
    • Weapon or suspicious devices on/near school grounds
    • Gang related activities
    • Unusual or suspicious behavior of students/staff
    • Self-harm or suicidal sentiments
    • Any other school safety related concerns.

Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or they can choose to leave their contact information for a later follow-up.

Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844.723.3764) are answered by analysts within Ohio Homeland Security. If action is needed, the analysts immediately forward information to local school officials, law enforement agencies, and the Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC) for action and follow up.

The OSSC partners with the Ohio Department of Education to follow up with affected school and law enforcement agencies to make sure the incident is investigated, action is taken, and resources/supports are provided when necessary.

  • Change Request Form

NOTE- You must complete this form prior to any schedule change.  A Counselor will be in contact with you regarding your change either by email or meeting with you in the Guidance Office.

Please refer to the following information in regards to scheduling issues:

    What is a schedule conflict?

    • Student didn’t get a class requested
    • Student doesn’t have a lunch
    • Student doesn’t have a class every period of the school day
    • Student doesn’t have five/six classes in a day

Changes the guidance office WILL make:

    • Move a student to a higher level course to increase rigor
    • Add a class in place of a study hall
    • Drop a class for a study hall (as long as the student has the minimum number of classes and is on track with credits for graduation)
    • Leaving for College Credit Plus (CCP)
    • Scheduling conflict created by the Master Schedule
    • For the purposes of balancing classes

Changes the guidance office WILL NOT make:

    • Change a student’s lunch period
    • Change a student’s teacher for a course
    • Change elective classes that were requested (for example: switch from Graphic Design to Computer Apps I)
    • Drop a student to a lower level of a course- Honors/Advanced/AP to General.   The student must attend the class for the first 10 days of school.  After that time period, collaboration must take place between the student, parent, teacher, guidance counselor, and principal to determine if the change is necessary
  • In order to be eligible for a parking spot in August you must meet and adhere to the following requirements:

All vehicles on school property may be searched by the school administration or law enforcement officials upon reasonable suspicion of illegal activity or concern for safety. Students’ vehicles parked on school property are subject to routine patrol and school officials may look through vehicle windows for any contraband lying in plain view.

    1. Violation of any driving and/or parking regulation may result in the revocation of the student’s parking privileges and additional administrative consequences. Parking privileges may also be revoked if the car is used to violate a school rule (such as leaving the school property during the school day). If a student loses his/her parking privileges there will be no refund.
    2. Students receiving permission to park in the student parking lot are issued a parking hangtag. The hangtag must be placed on the rear view mirror; failure to do so may result in administrative consequences. Parking hangtags are not transferable. Students found forging, sharing (without administrative approval) or selling parking hangtags, will be denied parking privileges for the balance of the school year and are subject to other disciplinary action.
    3. Students MUST park in their assigned numbered spot.
    4. Students who falsify information on the Parking Pass Application will have their hangtags revoked without refund.
    5. Hangtags are valid for the entire school year.
    6. Student parking is permitted only in the student lot. Students who do not have a hangtag are not permitted to park on school property during the school day. Students who violate this rule will be subject to disciplinary measures.
    7. Tecumseh High School is not liable for any loss or damage to vehicles parked on district property. Vehicles must be parked and locked upon arrival to school. Students are advised not to leave anything of value in their cars.
    8. Students are not permitted to return to their vehicles during the school day without permission from school administration.
    9. Students are not permitted to loiter in the parking lots at any time.
    10. Students must have FinalForms completed.

Payment should be made through Ms. Talley in the Guidance Office.  Students will receive an assigned spot at the time of payment.

Students are not permitted to park in the THS parking lot without a school assigned parking spot.  Students parking without permission will receive a warning before further disciplinary action.

BACKGROUND

Tecumseh High School is a public high school near New Carlisle, Ohio.  The school and district are named in honor of Tecumseh, a chief of the Shawnee people who lived in the general area between approximately 1768-1813.  Tecumseh Local Schools is one of six public school districts located in Clark County.

Tecumseh High School has a long standing tradition of academic excellence.  Our students leave THS prepared for their post-secondary pursuits.  Whether they plan to pursue a four-year university, a two-year community college, the military, or the workforce THS prides itself on knowing that our students are ready for their next challenge.

Finally, the Arrow Nation, as we like to call it, is a group of students, parents, staff, alumni, and community members who are proud to be a part of the Tecumseh Local Schools family and wear the "Circle T" with pride.

Message from the Principal

A man with graying hair and a white shirt smiles at the camera.
On behalf of our faculty, students, and staff I want to welcome you to Tecumseh High School.  THS is a school full of diversity and opportunity.  We embrace the unique qualities that each student brings to our student body and seek to challenge each of them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Students receive a well-rounded education at Tecumseh High School.  We offer a variety of opportunities ranging from AP courses to Future Farmers of America (FFA).  In fact, we are one of the few schools in the State of Ohio to have their own FFA Barn.  In addition, we proudly host a distinguished JROTC Program and there are many athletic teams and co-curricular activities for students to be involved in.

Our teachers are highly-trained and work diligently to create learning that will prepare students with the skills they need to be successful in the 21st-Century.  We are a "Google School" and faculty are working towards 100% being google certified. We are a 1:1 school so each student is issued a Chromebook and use Google Classroom extensively.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you need assistance with any of the programs we offer.

Be Great,

Dr. Aaron M. Oakes
