Welcome to Park Layne, home of Tecumseh Local's kindergarten and first grade students. Our website has information to help you learn more about our school including supply lists, links to helpful websites, a photo gallery with lots of pictures, a link to our Google Calendar and more.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2017/2018 school year will take place in the spring. Please note that the cutoff date for kindergarten entry is now August 1 for Tecumseh Local. Students must be five years old by August 1 to be age eligible for kindergarten beginning with the 2017/2018 school year. This is a recent change so please help us spread the word.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library Now Available to Tecumseh Families! A free book in the mail each month for children from birth to five years old. Click on the Link at left for more information.
We have a Boxtop Contest each year so please save your Boxtops for Education off participating products. Boxtops need to be clipped and sent in in an envelope or ziplock baggie with the child's name and teacher's name. The top collecting students will get a prize at the end of the year and the winning class each month will get our traveling trophy and be featured in the newsletter.
Our school has implemented the Lexia Reading software program. Students can access this program at home by going to www.lexialearning.com in an internet browser and clicking Downloads in the upper-right hand corner. Accept the license agreement and enter our Customer Code, 6715-9207-6910-4599, to complete the installation. Once installed, students can log in the same way they will at school to practice important reading skills. All students at Donneslville and Park Layne have access to the program. If you need more information about the program or you child's login information, contact your child's teacher or the school office.
Park Layne students can also access another reading program at home called Raz-Kids. Go to www.raz-kids.com. From there students will put in their teacher's login, find their name and enter their password. Raz-Kids gives students books to read on their level. They can listen to the book, read it independently and then take a quiz over the book to check for understanding. Students can access Lexia and Raz-Kids all summer long as well.
